Yes, Dakota comes from a line of prestigious acting genes, her mother is actress Melanie Griffith (Golden Globe winner for Working Girl 1988) and her father is actor Don Johnson (Golden Globe winner for Miami Vice 1984) . Her grandmother is  Tippi Hedren (Golden Globe winner for Most Promising Newcomer for The Birds 1964).
