Dakota films in Vancouver

We have added some photos of Dakota filming more scenes for 50 Shades of Grey. The actress braved the cold and shot some night scenes with Jamie over the weekend too.

Recent announcements have revealed that Rita Ora will be playing Christian’s sister Mia, while Marcia Gay Harden will be his mother. Jennifer Ehle has also been cast to star as Ana’s mother and Cedar Cove star Dylan Neal will play Ana’s stepfather.

Other cast members include Eloise Mumford as Kate, Anastasia’s best friend and roommate; Luke Grimes as Christian’s brother Elliot; Victor Rasuk as Anastasia’s friend José; and Max Martini as Christian’s bodyguard Jason Taylor.

Dakota & Jamie Dornan begin filming 50 Shades of Grey

The famous duo were spotted shooting scenes for the upcoming movie in Vancouver yesterday, but there were no signs of kinky underwear and bedroom accessories just yet.

Instead, Dakota and Jamie were seen drinking tea together in a small coffee shop whilst having a rather awkward-looking conversation.

Dakota, who plays the innocent student who falls for Christian’s charms, was dressed casually in a khaki green jacket, a patterned scarf and jeans.

Meanwhile, 31-year-old Jamie looked very smart in a dark grey blazer and a mathcing waistcoat, which he wore with dark jeans and a white shirt to play the role of the dreamy businessman.

The two were no doubt filming a scene which will feature early on in the film, when Ana agrees to meet Christian for a coffee after interviewing him for her friend’s college project.

The film, which is being directed by Sam Taylor-Wood, will no doubt stick to E.L.James best-selling novel as much as possible as it chronicles the sadomasochistic couple and their sexual relationship.

Dakota, whose mother is Melanie Griffith, recently admitted that she had started going to the gym in order to look good for the many sex scenes that the film will require.

“Obviously, I want to look good naked,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “I totally understand now why people exercise, because it kind of f***ing feels awesome.”

The film also stars Eloise Mumford as Kate, Luke Grimes as Elliot and Jennifer Ehle as Carla, Ana’s mother, and is set for release in February 2015, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Eloise Mumford is cast as Kate Kavanagh in Fifty Shades of Grey

Fifty Shades of Grey’s cast is almost complete!

Eloise Mumford has landed the role of Kate Kavanagh in the film adaptation of the erotic book trilogy, Variety confirms.

Kate is the bubbly and vivacious college roommate of shy and innocent Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson), as well as the love interest of Elliot Grey (Luke Grimes), the adopted brother of S&M fetishist billionaire Christian Grey.

The 27-year-old actress is best known for her roles on TV’s The River in 2012 and Lone Star in 2010. She can next be seen in the film Not Safe for Work.

In addition to Dornan, Johnson, Grimes and now Mumford, Victor Rasuk will portray Anastasia’s close friend José and Jennifer Ehle will be Anastasia’s mother, Carla. The film, which might be rated NC-17, is being directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and produced by Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti.

Focus Features recently announced that the steamy flick will arrive in theaters on Feb. 13, 2015. Just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Production was delayed one month after Charlie Hunnam dropped out just weeks before filming began. Dornan, who beat out rumored contenders like Billy Magnussen and Scott Eastwood, eventually replaced the Sons of Anarchy star.

Since its release, author E.L. James’ Fifty Shades has been translated in 52 languages worldwide and sold more than 90 million copies in e-book and print. Universal Pictures and Focus Features acquired the film rights in March 2012.

Fifty Shades of Grey Bonus Character Portraits

Entertainment Weekly have released some more stills from the 50 Shades of Grey shoot, check them out over in the galleries…

Jamie Dornan was in his pajamas, and anxious. It was 1:30 a.m. London time, and the 31-year old actor was watching reruns of Storage Wars and praying for the phone to ring. “I was sort of pretending I wasn’t waiting, but the phone was in my hand, halfway to my ear,” Dornan says in throaty Irish brogue. He had just flown back from Los Angeles, where he had auditioned for the role of the world’s hottest control freak, Christian Grey, in Fifty Shades of Grey. Landing this part would propel him to instant stardom, and so, with his pregnant wife, actress Amelia Warner, snoozing upstairs, Dornan tried to focus on the show. Minutes later, the film’s director, Sam Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy), phoned to tell the former Calvin Klein model that he was about to become the object of millions of women’s fantasies. “There was a slight fear,” Dornan says now, his wiry frame huddled on a couch in a Los Angeles photo studio. “But beyond anything else, I was really f—ing excited.”

This weeks’s Entertainment Weekly cover story features the first exclusive interviews with the two stars of the new film based on Fifty Shades of Grey, the publishing phenomenon from British author E L James — about the seduction of virginal college student Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) by a beautiful billionaire with a penchant for sadomasochism (Dornan) — that has sold 90 million copies worldwide and ignited the libidos of a generation of women.

The stars open up about what drew them to the roles, the pressures behind getting the roles right for the fans, and how they feel about baring it all. For Johnson, 24, the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, it meant seriously working out for the first time in her life. “Obviously, I want to look good naked,” the newly brunette actress tells EW. “I totally understand now why people exercise, because it kind of f—ing feels awesome.”
Dornan, who spent his early days as a model frequently undressing for the camera, isn’t the least bit anxious about the graphic sex scenes he and Johnson are about to film. “I’m a fairly worldly guy,” says Dornan. “I grew up in a very liberal place. I’m not saying we had a playroom, but I’m not shocked by [the sex in the book]. It’s essential to tell the story. I can’t believe films that don’t invoke the sexual side of it. So it works for me.”
Everything also seems to be working now, too, for the studio behind the film, Universal Pictures and its indie subsidiary Focus Features, which purchased the rights to James’ trilogy back in March 2012. The studio experienced some initial bumps along the way, particularly with the initial casting (and subsequent departure) of Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) as Christian Grey. The film, which begins production in Vancouver on Dec. 2, was originally set for release this August, but has now been pushed to Valentine’s Day weekend 2015.

50 Shades of Grey Finds Its Jose

And then there were three. How to Make it In America‘s Victor Rasuk has been cast in one of the last remaining major roles for the 50 Shades of Grey adaptation, Deadline reports. Rasuk will be playing Jose, the third part of a love triangle with the film’s leads. Those parts have already gone to Dakota Johnson, who will be playing Anastasia Steele, and Jamie Dornan, who will be playing Christian Grey. Jose is Anastasia’s devoted friend and Christian’s rival for her love.

In terms of choosing the cast and crew, 50 Shades has already been an eventful ride. The actor initially tapped to play Christian, Brit Charlie Hunnam, signed on and then dropped out, and producers have brought in several writers to polish the script. But, if all goes according to plan, the film, which is an adaptation of EL James’s best-selling erotic novel, is slated for release next summer.
