In A Relationship (Short Film) starring Dakota Johnson

Directed by Sam Boyd, the nineteen-minute short is a raw look into the private lives of two couples—one in the early stages of their romance, the other stuck in the middle of a rut—through a mockumentary-style lens.

Inspired by Woody Allen’s classic, Husbands and Wives, and a recent frustration with the lack of depth in many romantic comedies, Boyd tried to create a film that showed an honest depiction of young love today. “I thought it was funny that romantic comedies were always about these made-up problems. ‘I met the perfect guy but, oh no, it turns out he’s a ghost! How is this ever going to work?’ ” Boyd says over the phone from Los Angeles. “The idea with In a Relationship was to dig deep into the things that really hinder romantic happiness.” As for the fortuitous timing of casting Johnson right before she signed on to play one of fiction’s most infamous heroines, Boyd is nothing but grateful. “When I found out she got the part, I thought, there’s no way she’s going to do it,” he explains. “It was so cool for her to do this huge movie and still be game to do this little thing with us.”

Dakota Johnson For Vogue Magazine 2015 (February Issue)

On the eve of becoming notorious with the release of “Fifty Shades of Grey”, Dakota Johnson, Its under-the-radar star, relishes her last moments of anonymity. Hamish Bowles joins her for a whirlwind jaunt through London Fashion Week.

“My most favorite thing about London,” confides Dakota Johnson on the first day of our madcap foray into the capital’s Fashion Week, “is that nobody recognizes me. It’s really…cool.”

At this point, it must be noted, Dakota hardly recognizes herself: She’s temporarily a flaxen blonde, and an overeager hairdresser has chopped something approximating sideburns into her tousled mane.“I’m not the kind of person who is like, “What have you done?!” Dakota shrugs. “I’m like, “I love it!”.

But although she passes generally unnoticed by the city’s paparazzi as they scramble to photograph Alexa Chung, Poppy Delevingne, et al, that situation, it can safely be assumed, will soon change dramatically once, Dakota, 25, embodies Anastasia Steele, the adventuresome heroine in the screen adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey”, EL James’s erotic best seller (“a very dark Grimm’s fairy tale, told for adults,” ad director Sam Taylor-Johnson describes it). The Fifty Shades trilogy’s critical lambasting was rewarded with sales of 100 million copies worldwide, and the movie, a very alternative love story that open on Valentine’s Day weekend, might just make Dakota this decade’s Vivien Leigh.

“I think about my dwindling anonymity,” she says, “and that’s really scary because a very large part of me would be perfectly happy living on a ranch in Colorado and having babies and chickens and horses — which I will do anyway.” Still, she could not pass up the opportunity to play a character that so many people felt they knew. “I wanted to be involved because it’s so different,” says Dakota, “And it’s  an intense love story.” Continue reading Dakota Johnson For Vogue Magazine 2015 (February Issue)

Dakota Johnson in Glup Magazine

 02

“MR. GREY WILL SEE YOU NOW”, reads on the poster of the expected release. Those who have read the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, will understand that this phrase causes nerves and excitement. And this story of bondage and sadomasochism, begins at the common place where responds to anyone who has a business appointment with someone.

Knowing this, without seeing the trailer – even without having reading the books – , you can imagine the main character Anastasia Steel , played by Dakota Johnson , awkward and timid entering the vast office where you will find Christian Grey the man who will change his life forever through sexual practices ” less conventional ” if we can call them that , and who has conquered women from around the globe with what appeared to be over –at least that was said in the twentieth century : total and absolute sexual domination.

THE MOST ENVIED WOMAN OF ORB The blonde Dakota Johnson, daughter of Melanie Griffith and actor Don Johnson – James Crockett in Miami Vice- was chosen to star in the film version of the trilogy translated into 50 languages without a long career; just a few appearances in films like The Social Network and the new 21 Jump Street, perhaps because after Crazy in Alabama -directed by her stepfather Antonio Banderas and where shared credits with his mother and half-sister Stella Banderas, her parents did promise would not act until he had finished high school. She fulfilled, and just return the foot in Hollywood, She regained her fortune. The role of Anastasia Steele is the potential new Bella Swan.
Maybe even a little more , considering that  Fifty Shades of Grey has been read more than The Twilight saga -an irony , because  the author EL James began to develop the book as a fan -fiction texts of Stephenie Meyer-. As it was, it is known that Dakota came to casting of Universal Pictures with a powerful weapon of seduction under the arm sexually explicit monologue from the movie Person of director Ingmar Bergman in which the character of Alma suffers from a personality disorder. “…When I came I felt was something I had never felt before in my life, as his sperm inside my shot . He take me to my  shoulders and leaned Backward and I came again and again…” Says the text on which Johnson told Cosmopolitan magazine: “There were some parts I was ashamed to read aloud, but it’s one of those things that have to commit wholeheartedly.” Continue reading Dakota Johnson in Glup Magazine
